7 quick takes

1 -
3
Okay, so I love this song, but after watching this version of it I want to follow my dream of learning to play the accordian and write the percussionist a fan letter.

2 - I actually don't have a dream of playing the accordian but the other day I was thinking about how it'd be cool if I could.

3 - Last night I had my consultation with Bloom Personal Shopping's Hallie Lord.  It was a wonderful experience!  Hallie gave me all kinds of tips on what I can wear as stay at home, overweight mom.  A lot of her suggestions for me were reasonably priced (though for me that still requires saving money or waiting until after Christmas) and I'm excited to get things to smooth out my spillage, hide my flaws, and play up my own personal style.

4- In fact when I woke up this morning I had this great feeling of empowerment.  It felt a little like, "watch out I'm gonna look smokin' today!"  That feeling diminished though, when I remembered I still had my old wardrobe.  Boo.

5 - My new post at Virtuous Planet is up.  Travis suggested I write something light hearted so I did a list of songs Lydia and I both love.  You can check it out here:  Music to Make You Happy.

6 - The only thing that frustrates me each week as I work on my VP post is that they want at least one picture in each post.  I spend stupid amounts of time looking for a good picture and then just settling for something that's good enough.  I understand why they want a picture but for whatever reason any time I try to upload one of my personal ones it says the file is too big.  I'm not tech savy enough to figure that one out so I'm left searching the creative commons on flickr.  If you know Wordpress and can help me out (and you live close by) I'll bake you cookies and deliver them to your door.

7 - I finished Lost.  There is now a void in my life.  When I come to terms with things I will write a post that will be a major spoiler.

I wondered what bloom was....
Also, I can help you with the photo thing. If you can email me the photo I can shrink it for you or if you have a list of photos you want ahead of time (like a couple months at a time) I can bring over my camera and we can stage a bunch of them.
Anyway, let me know. I'm happy to help. I love that you are blogging on there and if a couple minutes of my time will make you extra proud of it-you got it babe. :)

Isn't that "void" feeling a funny one? It happens whenever I finish a good book or TV series...makes me eager to start another.

My sister gave me a working toy accordion as a HS graduation present (she worked at a toy shop and I'd come in and play with it) I just rediscovered it and my kids think it's awesome.

Thanks for your post on my blog, as a result, I have linked my email address. FYI, I tried Mad Men and couldn't make it through the 1st episode, but maybe that's just me...

Do you have a Goodwill near you? I've recently discovered some A-M-A-Z-I-N-G clothes there, but only when I was able to go sans kids and had the energy to try only literally 60 different items (bought 4).

Bonnie,
You're awesome. Thanks for the video and for introducing us to Brooke Fraser. By, the way, every time I've seen you lately I think you have looked very cute and "put together". Cute in a sophisticated wife and mom way, of course. I love the scarves you have been wearing.
I second the comment about Goodwill. (Or I know of another thrift store near you where I have found good stuff before).

This song has a great sound, but I gotta say, it makes me a little uncomfortable to watch the percussionist clutching his breasts in that way! LOL.

I'm glad you had a good consultation and hope you can incorporate lots of what you learned. Dressing nicely really does wonders for one's state of mind, I really believe that. Some days I feel silly, because I put on a super cute outfit and literally the only person who sees me all day is Theo. Then I drop him at school and nobody sees me for the rest of the day. Usually I leave it on long enough for Nate to see me for like 20 minutes and then I change into pj's for the night. :) But you know what? Being dressed like a grown up who has a job makes me get a lot more done at my "jobs" (keeping the house in order and making stuff to sell). Plus you just feel more attractive and that's always good.
