What's it like to have 4 kids?

"If you want to know what it's like to have a fourth [baby] just imagine you're drowning... and then someone hands you a baby."

So funny! I just watched Mr. Universe two days ago...and then watched it again. Granted I didn't get through the entire thing either time because life is like that, I absolutely loved it!

Ha! We were watching his special few nights ago! I always think of you with all the 4 baby referencing and home birth jokes. It kills me every time!

Here's hoping you're not drowning. Too much.

Love this - so people are wrong when they say it's easier after 3?? Hope you stay afloat today!

Thank God my #4 came when #1 was 11and #2 was 9...makes things a LOT easier : ) Plus, they are girls & therefore excellent surrogate mommies! Our little #4 is now
2 1/2 and the tagalong buddy of #3 who is 7 years old. God sure knew what He was doing when he put this family together...if they had all been 2 years apart, I might have been put in a loony bin a long time ago : )

"They" always say that three kids is the hardest number to have. I don't know. Our first wasn't hard, but the sheer amount of work and life style adjustment was overwhelming. The first six months after our second were very hard between the sibling relationship and my working full time. Our third slipped into our lives like he had always been there. Easy Peasy. I wonder if the fourth is where the hammer will drop...

I hope you are managing well! Remember the first six weeks are the hardest.

Our first four babies came rapid-fire like yours. We thought our number of children might always match our number of years of marriage. And then God quit sending us babies. For five years. I recently miscarried our fifth baby. To paraphrase Caryll Houselander, you are being forged into a very good mother through your trials. You will be so thankful. But still, nobody likes to be hit with hammer. Even if it's the hammer of God.

I showed Nick this comment since he's been throwing out the phrase "7 or 8 kids" for us. I love my pro-baby husband but yikes.

My favorite Mr. Universe comment: "There are adults without children that go to Disney, they are called weirdos. Very nice people but absolutely crazy!"
