prayers for tomorrow

Little James will have another cookie swallow tomorrow.  This is where they watch x-ray film of him eating thickened breast milk to see if he swallows it or aspirates on it.  If he successfully takes 20-30 ml of honey-thick milk they will feel safe giving him a bottle.  If he does not "pass" this test they will schedule surgery for a feeding tube to be put in his belly.

As I understand it, the muscle coordination - the reflex - to swallow is something one has or does not have and it cannot be trained or practiced into being.  It is something that can be regained but not because of therapy - it just happens.

I also understand that the window of time for regaining it is becoming smaller and smaller as James ages.

Please pray that he will regain the ability to eat!

Also, please continue to pray for normal muscle tone for my little boy.

And, of course, pray for no brain damage.

Thank you very much for your love, prayers, and support.

Praying, praying, praying! I've been keeping James in prayer all day and even clicked on your recent photo of him and prayed "over" him on my computer. Come in power, Lord!
